Void Venture is a new indie hand-drawn metroidvania game inspired by both classics and modern metroidvanias. Its story takes place in a dark universe where humanity is on the verge of extinction, living inside a gigantic ship that roams the unending void in search of a new planet to inhabit. You play as a commander astronaut whose crew has gone missing while exploring a planet far away from the mothership. Disobeying the high commands, you embark alone on a venture to rescue them.

While approaching the planet, a solar flare hits your ship, causing it to crash, and leaving you unconscious. When you wake up, you find yourself disoriented in a mysterious room filled with gadgets and sophisticated instruments. You quickly realize that your arms have transformed, merging with something alive. They have become big, powerful, and monstrous, with sharp claws and vibrant colors. You are trapped underground, where an alien society has been developing, and some of these beings are even reaching a high mental capacity, similar to humans.

What kind of adventures and adversities await you on this mysterious planet? Will you be able to find your crew? Who brought you to this room? And, more importantly, is he a friend or foe?

*Note: this demo shows the style of the prison area of our game, where you can explore and take a look at some of the props and overall ambience of it. The level design it presents is temporary and subject to change, made just for the demo to test out props. Enemies are not yet animated, they are static and placed for graphics testing. You can move and attack, and your mission is simply to find the master key, which will open the doors for you to escape from this prison, succesfully completing the demo.

Play in browser is enabled, but with limited resolution so the page design doesn't get messed up, make sure to download the game to get the full experience.

For an initial demo, the hand-drawn graphics is awesome. Animations are solid, the background is eye-catching, and the enemy sprites look cool. The astronaut arms could look more alien-y, maybe add some sacs/tendrils similar to the ones in the environment.

The prison area is pretty big, so it's good that many of the "dead ends" are pretty short, leading me to the boss room. I hope there will be some hidden areas somewhere, hiding a power-up, some resources, or lore stuff.

Overall, neat introduction to the project. If you're still working on it, looking forward to more updates. If not, then it's fine too.
